In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee and her 70th year on the British throne - by far the longest reign of any British monarch.
Inspired by this momentous event, "Crown & Sceptre", the latest book by renowned historian Tracy Borman – who is also Joint Chief Curator at Historic Royal Palaces- explores the tumultuous history of the British monarchy. Taking in 1,000 years of royal history from 1066 to the present day, Domesday Book to Magna Carta, the Field of Cloth of Gold to Prince William’s wedding, she charts this iconic institution.
We’re delighted to welcome Tracy for an illustrated talk in which she will introduce some of her favourite monarchs and share a few of the secrets behind the crown’s remarkable survival.
